In Hale Wallpiece
Ben Storms
“Contrasting with the weathered steel, Storms experimented with a leather covering for the blown metal shape. The leather is put on the shape before it is blown. It then stretches in the process of blowing, clinging to the base. The leather once again transforms the look of this piece, begging to be touched.
Storms collaborated with fine leather workshop Niyona, and chose a full grain saddle leather with an uncorrected, exposed grain. This leather with an aniline finish preserves the particularity of each hide.”
