Bread placemats / BOZAR Restaurant

Bread by La Fleur du Pain… taking care of every detail and every slice.

Bozar Restaurant and artisan of the year (Gault Millau) and freshly starred chef (Michelin) Karen Torosyan, together with Laurent Richard from La Fleur du Pain, asked us to imagine and produce some leather placemats to accompany your meal.

As most things on the table are flat, we knew we wanted to create some relief and height on the table. Seen as the shadow and prolongation of the bread bowl, we conceived and fabricated these leather accessories. Made out of vegetable-tanned bovine leather, every piece has been moulded to keep that form. The extra ‘swifted’ finishing gives a very soft and grease repellant effect. These leather placemats have been designed in pairs, as eating your bread is also a moment of sharing. This way you can play around with it and assemble the pieces together.
